How to Profile a Beekeeper

The goal was to capture the work of a beekeeper while interesting viewers in his business.  Harold Wright’s company, Bee Safe, removes bees and beehives.  He learned it from his parents.  He loves what he does.  Surprisingly, he even has fun with it.

I captured amateur-type videos Harold posted on YouTube, then put them in the form of a story.  Of course, I was limited by the video and sound on YouTube.  While the videos looked “amateur,” but did capture remarkable video of Harold interacting with the bees.  Fearlessly in fact.

How to Profile a Beekeeper:  Takeaways

  • In reviewing available video material, identify the best video and audio.
  • Put them together to tell a story.
  • Include information that viewers will find surprising and memorable.
  • Example:  The fact that without bees, our food supply would be limited because of the role bees play with crops.
  • See this video profile as just one of a series of videos about a company.
  • Others provide an overview of services, competitive advantages, testimonials, and valuable information which is called “content marketing.”
  • Include a call to action about the company.
